It just took two years of first class cricket for a young Abdul Qadir to announce his arrival into international cricket, as he made his Test debut in 1977 against England. When the world was witnessing the emergence of fast pace bowling, Abdul Qadir rekindled a dying art called leg-spin bowling.

Marking a distinct run-up, Abdul Qadir was a master of the leg-spin delivery. He had an enormous variety of deliveries up his armour. Qadir mastered the googlies, the flippers, the leg-breaks and the topspins that were almost dormant at the time in the game of cricket. A 6-wicket haul in his comeback match at Lord's in 1982, guided Pakistan to register a historic win against England. Such was Qadir’s prolificacy, he set a record for being the first bowler to claim 100 Test wickets in a Pakistani season.

In an era when the Pakistan era boasted of some fiery quicks, Qadir won Pakistan many matches, and in fact became the first Pakistan bowler to take 200 wickets in Test cricket.

Legend will have this to say – In a tour match against the visiting Indians, Qadir was hoisted into the stands for four massive sixes by a relatively unknown 17-year old called Sachin Tendulkar.

Aaqib Javed (Urdu: عاقب جاوید) (born August 5, 1972) is a Pakistani cricketer and coach. He was a right-handed medium-fast pace bowler with the ability to swing the ball both ways. He played 22 Tests and 163 One Day Internationals for Pakistan between 1988 and 1998.He was educated at Islamia College Lahore.

Aaqib’s best performances in internationals came against India. He took 54 wickets in his 39 ODIs against India at an average of 24.64 – 6.79 runs lower than his career ODI average. Four of his six ODI Man of the Match awards were against India.

Aaqib took a hat-trick in an ODI against India in October 1991, aged only 19 years and 81 days. He remains the youngest player to have taken an ODI hat-trick. He was a key member of the Pakistan team that won the 1992 Cricket World Cup. He coached Pakistan’s U-19 team to victory in the 2004 U-19 Cricket World Cup. Aaqib is married to Farzana Burkey, sister of singer Adeel Burkey, and has one daughter named Uqba.

Currently, Aaqib is chief coach of the National Cricket Academy in Pakistan. He is also associated with The Computer House, a Pakistani computer hardware company. During this time Aaqib has been helping with the development of the Afghanistan national cricket team. He is currently the bowling coach of the Pakistan cricket team. With Waqar Younis the head coach and Intikhab Alam the manger.

mran Khan HI, PP, RCPE (Hon), ASY, WCY (Urdu: عِمران خان‎) born Imran Khan Niazi (Urdu:عِمران خان نِیازی‎) on 25 November 1952, is a Pakistani politician, celebrity, and formercricketer. He played international cricket for two decades in the late twentieth century and, after retiring, entered politics. Besides his political activism, Khan is also a philanthropist,cricket commentator, Chancellor of the University of Bradford and Founding Chairman ofBoard of Governors of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre. Through worldwide fundraising, he founded Namal College, Mianwali in 2008.

He was Pakistan's most successful cricket captain,^[4] leading his country to victory at the1992 Cricket World Cup, playing for the Pakistani cricket team from 1971 to 1992, and serving as its captain intermittently throughout 1982–1992.^[5] After retiring from cricket at the end of the 1987 World Cup in 1988, owing to popular demand he was requested to come back by the president of Pakistan Zia ul Haq to lead the team once again. At the age of 39, Khan led his team to Pakistan's first and only World Cup victory in 1992. With 3807 runs and 362 wickets in Test cricket, he is one of eight world cricketers to have achieved an 'All-rounder's Triple' in Test matches.^[6] On 14 July 2010, Khan was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.^[7]

In April 1996, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf ("Movement for Justice") political party was established ^[8] and Khan became its chairman. He represented Mianwali as a member of the National Assembly from November 2002 to October 2007, he was again elected on 11 May 2013, while his party gained 35 seats in the National Assembly.^[9]^[10]^[11] Global Postmentioned him third in a list of nine world leaders of 2012 and recognized Khan as the face of anti-drone movement in Pakistan.^[12] According to Asia Society, Khan was voted as Asia’s Person of the Year 2012.^[13] As the Pew Research Center, in 2012 majority of Pakistani respondents offered a favourable opinion of Khan, the survey also revealed Khan's popularity among youth.^[14]

Wasim Akram (Urdu: وسیم اکرم‎; born 3 June 1966) is a former Pakistani cricketer. He was a genuine left arm fast bowler who could bowl with significant pace and left-handed batsman who represented the Pakistan national cricket team in Test cricket and One Day International (ODI) matches.

Akram is regarded as one of the greatest fast bowlers in the history of cricket. He holds the world record for most wickets in List A cricket with 881 and is second only to Sri Lankan off-spin bowler, Muttiah Muralitharan in terms of ODI wickets with 502. He is considered to be one of the founders and perhaps the finest exponent of reverse swing bowling. Akram had a very special talent to move the ball both ways in one delivery which is called " double swing of Wasim Akram". No one in cricket history has done it so far.[1][2][3]

He was the first bowler to reach the 500-wicket mark in ODI cricket during the 2003 World Cup. In 2002 Wisden released its only list of best players of all time. Wasim was ranked as the best bowler in ODI of all time with a rating of 1223.5, ahead of Allan Donald, Imran Khan, Waqar Younis, Joel Garner, Glen McGrath and Muralitharan.[4] Wasim has taken 23 4-wicket hauls in ODI in 356 matches he played.[1] On 30 September 2009, Akram was one of five new members inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.[5][6] He is the bowling coach of Kolkata Knight Riders.[7] He took break from the position for IPL 6 citing to spend more time with family.
